Use the fingertip pulse oximeter. Each reading captures oxygen (SpO2 %), pulse (heart rate), and the time. Add one each time you check.
SpO2 under 90% β recheck, make sure he's sitting up; if it stays under 90% call Bobby/Judy. Heart rate under 50 or over 110 at rest β flag.
𦡠Edema (Leg Swelling)
Press a thumb firmly into the skin over the shin/ankle for ~5 seconds, then let go. The deeper and longer the dent stays, the higher the level. Check both legs.
New or rapidly worsening swelling β especially in just one leg, or with shortness of breath β β flag Bobby/Judy.
